FAQ
What is my schedule for recital week? First, confirm which show your dancer is in. That can be found HERE.
Steffen Dance Recital week starts Wednesday, April 29. Dancers are required to attend three things: Dress Rehearsal and the Recital. They are all mandatory.
For dress rehearsal, parents should come into the theatre with their dancers. They should come to the dress rehearsal in their regular class wear.
What does my dancer wear for the recital? We either ordered a costume or have asked parents to provide costumes for their pieces. This will have already been communicated to you and costumes have been handed out in class. We still have a few costumes for those who have been absent so please make sure to have your dancer ask for their costume when they are next in class this week! It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure that students have the right shoes and accessories. That can be found HERE.
What hair and makeup does my dancer need? Hair requirements can be found in the links listed above. For more tips and tricks on hair, and information regarding make up you can look HERE
Where can I buy tickets? You can purchase tickets for the show through the Holy Heart Box Office click HERE
What is the show running order? Dancers should arrive for their show and dress rehearsal with full hair, make up and accessories on for their first piece. If they are in more than one dance they will need to bring their supplies with them to change during the show. We recommend a suitcase or a laundry basket so that they have an organized place to keep their items. The show running order will be on the website Thursday, April 16. You can then organize your bags as needed.
Does the recital affect the regular class schedule? There will be no regular classes from Wednesday, April 29-Sunday, May 3 inclusive. These classes are being replaced by their time at the theatre and will allow a little break for both students and staff after an exciting week. Classes then continue through May until Saturday, May 16.
Anything else I need to know? For our new families, it is often tradition that families give their dancers flowers to celebrate their hard work leading up to and at the recital. This is not required, but we have taken a step to help make this easier for you by partnering with Teresa James Florals. You can order flowers for your dancer HERE.These flowers will be waiting at the theatre for you in the foyer.
