Tuition will be charged to your credit card on the 1st of the month through auto-pay. Cancellation of your automatic payment is accepted only in writing and must be tendered at least 14 days in advance of the date you intend to cancel. Any funds collected during that cancellation period will be non-refundable. All payments made by check or credit card on a monthly basis are subject to a late fee if they are not received prior to the 5th day of the month. Accounts not paid by the 7th day of the month will be assessed a $20 late fee.

Payment for camps and drop in classes are taken at time of registration. Camps and drop in classes are non-refundable.

Our system does not automatically apply family and multi class discounts to classes of different lengths. If you are registering for more than one class, please contact office@steffendance.com before making payment and we will make sure that you are not overcharged. If you do proceed with payment and you were overcharged, we will go in manually and edit your account. A credit will be applied to your next monthly payment. We will not refund any over charges.

Costume fees for the year-end recital ( for those participating) will be charged to your auto-credit card charge on the dates provided (usually January for costume deposit and March/April for the balance – a detailed letter is always given prior to any charges made). Costume Fees are non-refundable, even if a student withdraws from the recital after the costumes are ordered.

14 days notice is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be made in writing via email and will not be accepted verbally. Withdrawal must be done via email and not with the teacher or teaching assistant.

All automatic credit card charges will stop after the 14 day notice period. Steffen Dance reserves the right to terminate lessons to any student without notice. In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given if account is in good standing.

Steffen Dance reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is unable to teach and the studio cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.

Classes are not rescheduled or refunded if there is a storm. Please note we only close when absolutely necessary. We do not follow the school board’s decisions. Please always refer to the studio website and social media channels. Students may makeup the class with another, within the same month if they wish.

If they are unable to attend their regular lesson, students are allowed to do another class as a make-up class as long as they are eligible by age and ability. Please email office@steffendance.com to arrange. As it gets closer to a recital no make-ups classes will be allowed in recital classes.

Required dance wear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. Failure to wear required dance wear to class could result in students being asked to sit out the class. Repeated failure to wear required dance wear could result in termination of lessons. Students are not permitted to wear shoes worn on the street or outdoors, to any dance class. For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry. Long hair must be tied back.

Steffen Dance does not hold regular classes on certain holidays, nor do they offer a discount or refund for classes that would otherwise take place on those days, however the yearly schedule provides equal classes for all days of the week. Please visit our website at www.steffendance.com and click on the important dates. Additionally, Steffen Dance recognizes that some months have different numbers of weeks. The dance year fee is divided into 9 equal instalment payments September to May.

It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all activities, recitals, extra classes, and dates the studio is open or closed. Steffen Dance will post all such notices on the website and emails will be sent out. It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check their emails to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the studio of any credit card numbers, credit card expiration dates, mailing address, email, or telephone number changes.

Steffen Dance is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 are to remain in the building during classes. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive time before or after class.

Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on Steffen Dance property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

Steffen Dance is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photographs in its name.

To ensure a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all dancers, our studio has established the following guidelines regarding photography, video recording, social media use, and personal devices. Parents are asked to pass this information onto their dancers who would be bringing cell phones into the studio building.

1. Recording in the Studio

Students and parents are not permitted to photograph or video any class, rehearsal, or activity taking place in the studio without the explicit permission of the teacher.

Permission may be granted in limited circumstances, such as:

~ Helping a dancer remember choreography for practice at home

~ Private sharing within a family group

If permission is given, recordings must be brief, purposeful, and respectful of all dancers present.

2. Posting on Social Media

Photos or videos that include other students in the dance studio, may not be posted on any social media platform (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Snapchat) without consent:

~ Individuals age 18 or older: permission must be obtained directly from the individual

~ Individuals under 18: permission must be obtained from a parent or guardian

This applies to both public posts and private accounts.

3. Studio Media Use

During registration, families sign a Media Release granting the studio permission to capture and share photos or videos for promotional and community building purposes.

The studio is committed to using media responsibly:

Children’s full names are not published

Content is selected carefully to ensure all dancers are portrayed respectfully and positively

Media is shared only on official studio platforms.

Teachers may on occasions take videos of their classes to aid with remembering choreography. This is for their personal use only and is never shared.

4. Cell Phones & Personal Devices

To minimize distractions and protect privacy, cell phones and personal recording devices are not permitted in the dance studio space.

All phones must remain in the waiting area or a dancers bags.

Dancers may access their phones only before or after class, or with teacher permission in certain circumstances

These guidelines are in place to protect the privacy, safety, and comfort of every dancer and family.
