Maria is a second year student at Memorial University, working towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience. She has been taking dance classes from Marie Steffen since the age of three. Maria has taken every opportunity possible to extend her training and passion for dance. 

Maria is a graduate of the Performance Program, and the Teacher Assistant Program within the studio. She began assisting at the age of 10, as she has always had a natural desire to help young children. This allowed her to combine two things she loved into one. She is a teacher for both the recreational and performance programming within the studio. She has also ran the studios summer camps over the years. 

After seven years competing with the team, she has now officially transitioned into the choreographer role for the competition team. Maria has a special love for tap, but has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, broadway jazz, hip hop and latin jazz. Performing for audiences has always been the best feeling to her. This year marks Maria’s fourth year with Tada Events, performing in Our Divas do Christmas.

Maria is beyond excited to share her passion, knowledge and enjoyment of dance with her students for the 2025-2026 season. She can’t wait to meet her students, and continue to work with her returning ones!
